Floors for use with VNA trucks - according to the VDMA guidelines

The historic distribution center of Castiglione (MN), NESTLE 'PURINA PETCARE, was recently subjected to a complex reorganization of the logistics, to increase the storage capacity, handling performance and improve the safety of the workplace, this last among the top priorities of the Nestle Group.

All this perfectly respecting the schedule of works, which did not provide for expansion works of the building, while ensuring the full warehouse operations according to the highest safety standards; All this without any impact on the business from the expected level of service.

Stopping at the handling performance of the new bilateral trucks, whose outlet is carried out by the new earthquake-resistant shelving, flooring plays a crucial role: the aisles surface must be perfectly flat and meets the required tolerances by the truck manufacturer in order to achieve maximum plant efficiency.

In collaboration with Alphaplan bvba aisles flooring has been grinded with automatic machine FloorShaver, all-electric car with zero emissions within the warehouse and the absence of dust, for the adjustment of flatness, getting a surface corresponding to the VDMA guide lines.

Then the aisles were treated with FLOORCOAT / H coating, transparent, conductive, resinous protective coating, wear resistant, attractive finish that gives the room brightness. In addition the sealing of expansion / contraction joints are sealed with  ELASTOPLAST elastic material to avoid chipping and a risk of rapid deterioration, while the structural joints have been made with the newly arrived FLOORBRIDGE.
